Ayers Rock Private Tour

Private · half or full day ⚑ Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Reviews coming soon

Uluru, at your own pace

This is a private guided tour of Uluru, the great rock at the heart of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. It rises 348 metres above the desert and is one of the few places in Australia known by two names, Uluru and Ayers Rock. You walk the base, visit waterholes and quiet caves, and see ancient rock art, then watch the colour change over the rock at sunrise or sunset.

Uluru is a sacred place to the Anangu, the Traditional Owners of this land. Out of respect, the rock is not climbed. Instead the day is spent close to it, on the walking tracks and at the cultural sites, built around what you want to see and how you want to travel.

How the day runs

Every day is tailored, so treat this as the shape, not the script.

  • Into the park

Pick-up is timed to the sunrise or sunset, about a thirty minute drive from the Ayers Rock resort to Uluru.

  • Walking tour of the rock

You follow the Mala walk and the Kuniya walk along the base, learning about the rock and the national park as you go.

  • Mutitjulu waterhole

A short walk leads to a semi-permanent waterhole tucked against the rock, one of the quieter spots on the base.

  • Rock art and cultural sites

Your guide shares the history of the caves and the ancient rock art, and the stories the Anangu tell about this place.

  • Sunrise or sunset over Uluru

From the dunes viewing area you watch the rock change colour, with Kata Tjuta on the horizon, before heading back.
